Barrett Cornelius is a Vice President and Private Client Advisor with Bank of America Private Bank in Atlanta, Georgia. Barrett works closely with clients distinguished for their accomplishments and aspirations. Most are successful business owners – women and men for whom growing their enterprise is a key priority. He also assists corporate executives and generations of families, mostly in the Atlanta area.

Barrett recognizes that listening and learning from clients is critical to the long-term relationships he’s built and the strategies he crafts on their behalf. Many anticipate a liquidity event, brought on by a sale, exit or inheritance. Others may be assuming control of a business, sending children to college, planning for a well-deserved retirement, or looking to create a family or philanthropic legacy.

In addition to his own knowledge and insights, Barrett leads a select team of experienced specialists whose mission it is to help clients optimize their balance sheets and bolster their financial picture. Operating across a range of disciplines, the team provides investment management, asset preservation, tax minimization strategies and estate planning services, concentrated stock, restriction and grant strategies, business succession planning, credit and lending, and philanthropic services.

Prior to joining the Private Bank (formerly U.S. Trust) in 2019, Barrett served high-net-worth clients for four years as a Merrill financial advisor.

Originally from Atlanta, Barrett attended Woodward Academy and earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration, with a concentration in finance from Auburn University. Barrett is actively involved with the Woodward Academy Alumni Association and enjoys traveling, playing golf and watching college football. He lives with his wife, Austin and their corgis Harry and Windsor.
