Brett Bluestein is a Wealth Strategies Advisor  at Bank of America Private Bank in Charleston, South Carolina. He takes a strategic and educational approach to help ultra-high-net-worth clients address complex and sensitive wealth management issues, with an emphasis on strategies for tax and estate planning, wealth transfer and philanthropy.

He can also coordinate with other professional advisors to help clients pursue their goals in a timely, objective manner.

Brett works with ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, business owners and retired executives, many with primary or seasonal residences in South Carolina. He can help owners structure a business in anticipation of a sale or gift to a third party, family member, current management, or key employees.      

Prior to joining Bank of America Private Bank (formerly U.S. Trust) in 2008, Brett was an attorney with the McNair Law Firm, P.A. While practicing law, Brett focused on gift and charitable tax planning; probate administration; estate planning and trusts; succession planning for closely held businesses; and corporate law.

A native Charlestonian, Brett graduated from the Porter-Gaud School. He earned a B.A. degree in corporate communications and business administration from the College of Charleston, a J.D.  from the University of South Carolina School of Law, and an LL.M. in taxation from New York University. Brett is a member of the Charleston Estate Planning Council, the Charleston Tax Council, and the South Carolina Bar. He and his wife, Bess, have two young children, Jack and Libby.
