Christine Johnston is a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager with Bank of America Private Bank in Chicago, Illinois. Christy works closely with clients to discern their financial goals and objectives, leading the design and implementation of tailored investment initiatives to pursue those aims. She is skilled in leveraging the extensive research and broad capabilities of the Private Bank to address clients’ distinctive investment needs.

 

Christy offers technical insight and analytical acumen paired with an intuitive understanding for people and their priorities. Her areas of focus include both traditional and alternative investments, single-stock research, investment-manager evaluation, risk management, tax-efficient investing, and asset allocation. She enjoys developing deep relationships with clients, allowing her to stay apprised of their changing needs relative to dynamic market conditions. A skilled communicator, Christy also works to facilitate a client’s investment knowledge and comfort, supporting multiple generations in their evolution as capable and informed stewards. She collaborates closely with other members of a client’s Private Bank team, integrating investing within a cohesive, multi-disciplinary whole.

Christy has worked in investment management since 2005. Prior to joining the Private Bank, she served as a Portfolio Manager with TIAA Trust Company in Chicago. Her career also includes more than six years with US Bank Private Wealth Management, where she served as Portfolio Manager to high-net-worth clients. She earned her B.S.B.A. in Finance from Colorado State University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation.

Originally from Minnesota, Christy now makes her home in Wilmette, Illinois. She and her husband have two children. Christy enjoys an active lifestyle, including downhill skiing and biking in her free time. Her hobbies also include playing the piano, reading, and spending time with her family.
