Elizabeth Alfano is a Managing Director and Private Client Advisor with Bank of America Private Bank in New York, New York. Elizabeth provides strategic advice and insights to financial sponsors, corporate executives, entrepreneurs, business owners and family offices, helping them clarify their goals and unlock possible solutions to grow, preserve and transfer their wealth more effectively. 

Drawing on more than two decades of experience, Elizabeth addresses the unique wealth planning needs and complex challenges of the clients she serves, particularly around managing transitions such as M&A, pre-IPO and divestment. She is adept at helping clients navigate complex compensation arrangements, including equity and partnership interests, to meet their diversification and liquidity needs. Working with a team of specialists at the Private Bank, Elizabeth offers clients tax-sensitive approaches to liquidity event planning and helps to identify opportunities for intergenerational wealth transfer and philanthropy.     

Prior to joining Bank of America Private Bank, Elizabeth served as a trusted resource and was a recognized leader in executive compensation advisory in the Advice Lab at J.P. Morgan Private Bank. Earlier, Elizabeth was a Senior Manager with EY US, where she led compensation and tax advisory services for C-Suite executives within the Fortune 500. Her career also includes eight years with AIG, where she was a Senior Tax Counsel and Director in its corporate tax function. Elizabeth began her career in 2002 in private practice at a law firm in Boston, Massachusetts. 

Elizabeth earned her B.A. in Political Science and English Literature at Brown University and her J.D. from Boston College Law School. 

Elizabeth lives in lower Manhattan with her husband and their two children. She serves on the Board of Trustees for The Battery Conservancy and enjoys spending time with her family in the city’s parks.
