George Swygert is a Senior Vice President and Private Client Advisor in the McLean, Virginia office of Bank of America Private Bank. George works with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net worth individuals, families, and select not-for-profit institutions to design, develop, and implement customized strategies. George focuses on helping wealth creators, such as entrepreneurs and business owners, navigate critical junctures in their financial lives. He focuses on assisting business owners with business transition planning. George recognizes that wealth is not a short-term pursuit as he counsels clients on preserving, growing, and transferring wealth to future generations, conveying not only capital, but the vision and values that drive success. Together with a team of specialists George crafts detailed wealth offerings that respond to a range of goals: investment management, trust and estate planning strategies, liquidity event strategies, credit and lending, business transition planning, and philanthropy.
George joined Bank of America Private Bank (formerly U.S. Trust) in 2018 from Capital One, where he was a regional executive overseeing the Mid-Atlantic. Prior to Capital One, he held regional president roles at both Wells Fargo and Wachovia. His experience as the head of Small Business Banking for Wachovia gives him a unique perspective of the needs of business owners and the impact of their wealth on their families.
He graduated from The University of North Carolina in Charlotte with a Bachelor of Science in finance and a Bachelor of Arts in marketing. He currently serves on the board of the McLean Project for the Arts. He is a member of the Economic Club of Washington, D.C. and serves as a mentor for the Economic Club Scholars Program. He previously served as chairman of the Maryland Bankers Association, treasurer of the Phillips Collection, board member of The Foundation of the University of North Carolina Charlotte and held various board positions with Lutheran Social Services, The Fishing School, and Junior Achievement of the National Capital Area.
He resides in McLean, VA with his wife.
