Gerald Rixie is a Senior Vice President and Private Client Advisor with Bank of America Private Bank in Chicago, Illinois. Jerry works closely with business owners, corporate executives, family offices and Foundations, helping them assess their opportunities, simplify complexities, and pursue their goals with purpose and efficiency. A sage advisor and former executive, he brings first-hand experience and practical insight to ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, spearheading strategies and tactics designed to help them add measurable value to their lives and legacies. 

An intuitive leader, Jerry builds a team of specialists around each client. Together, they work in concert to address multiple facets of clients’ financial lives. Jerry also develops sustained relationships with successive generations of client families, refining his approach based on their distinctive values, intentions, and priorities. His areas of focus include pre- and post- liquidity event planning, business succession, executive compensation, banking, investment management, family dynamics and governance. 

Prior to joining the Private Bank (formerly U.S. Trust), Jerry served as a Private Wealth Consultant with U.S. Bank, where he assisted business owners as a liaison to the Commercial Bank. Previously, he was the Chief Financial Officer for a large Chicagoland Family.  His prior roles include tenures in senior-level corporate finance positions for Chicago-area firms. Jerry began his career at Ernst & Whinney, passing the CPA exam.

He earned his M.B.A. in finance from DePaul University and his B.A. in accounting from Michigan State University. He holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. 

Active in the greater Chicago community, Jerry serves on the Board of Advisors for Catholic Charities and is a regular volunteer with the Chicago Alzheimer’s Association. He is a founding member of The Private Directors Association.
