Gioia McCarthy is the San Francisco-North Bay Market Executive for Bank of America Private Bank. In this role, McCarthy is responsible for leading teams of Private Client Advisors and Private Client Managers who serve many types of clients, from families managing wealth across multiple generations to business owners, entrepreneurs and creators of first-generation wealth. Her teams provide personal, customized strategies and services to help high net-worth individuals and families preserve wealth, build legacies, transfer wealth to the next generation, and support important charitable causes.

McCarthy joined Bank of America/Merrill Edge Self Directed in 2011 and has over 32 years of leadership experience in the financial services industry in both Southern and Northern California. A passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion, she is an active ally for LGBT+ employees and is the executive sponsor for the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of the Hispanic/Latino Organization for Leadership and Advancement (HOLA) along with being the executive sponsor for the CA Women's Leadership Program, an employee network to connect and empower women leaders. Additionally, McCarthy is a board member of Jewish Vocational Service (JVS), United Way Board Chair and has been involved in a number of charitable organizations where she served on local boards and held leadership roles in community support campaigns. 

McCarthy holds a B.S. in business administration/entrepreneurial finance from the University of Southern California.
