Greg Murphy is a Senior Vice President and Private Client Advisor with Bank of America Private Bank in Westport, Connecticut. Greg looks to provide clients with a differentiated experience – one that combines technical rigor and insight with the highest levels of service. He draws on an extensive background in credit and investing to help clients uncover possible inefficiencies across their balance sheet, preserve wealth, mitigate down-side risk, and pursue the life and legacy they envision for themselves and their loved ones.

Greg works closely with senior executives, business owners, and professionals, mindful of the unique circumstances that characterize each relationship. A committed problem solver, he relishes the opportunity to make a significant difference in clients’ lives. His areas of focus include customized lending for residential and commercial real estate, art, and luxury-good acquisitions. He is also adept in liquidity strategies for alternative investment professionals. Clients in the midst of significant life transitions, such as divorce or death of a spouse, look to Greg for an empathetic perspective and balanced advice. Greg is backed by an experienced team of specialists in wealth strategy, trust and estate planning, lending, and personal banking.  

Prior to joining the Private Bank in 2017, Greg spent more than 25 years in corporate and investment banking with Manufacturers Hanover, Santander Investments, Auerbach Grayson, and ICBC Standard Securities. He is a graduate of Wesleyan University and earned his M.B.A. from New York University’s Stern School of Business. A clear communicator, Greg has appeared multiple times as a market commentator on CNBC. 

Greg serves on the board of the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Foundation. He is also active with St. Francis of Assisi Church, the Easton Exchange Club, and the Weston Board of Finance. A sports enthusiast, he enjoys hiking, running, golfing, and traveling in his free time.
