Joanie Yau is a Senior Vice President and Private Client Manager with Bank of America Private Bank in San Jose, California. As a primary point of contact for clients, she takes a collaborative, client-centered approach to connect them to the extensive resources and capabilities at Bank of America aligning with their distinctive needs.

Drawing on her years of experience, Joanie helps multiple generations of affluent families, including business owners and technology industry executives with a multitude of credit and banking needs. Taking an integrated view of all of their resources, Joanie is passionate about understanding their multifaceted wealth management priorities. She can also help provide complex credit and lending solutions to help address the challenges faced by clients who seek to diversify their balance sheets and investment portfolios with commercial real estate.

Joanie began her career with Bank of America in 1995, and has held a variety of roles in the retail bank as a teller, supervisor, and assistant manager. She joined the Private Bank in 2013.

Joanie earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance and a minor in Asian-American studies from California State University of Hayward. She currently serves as the Silicon Valley – East Bay volunteer liaison for The Private Bank, and is an active volunteer with several local organizations, including The Health Trust, where she organizes monthly virtual card-making events for home bound seniors in the community receiving Meals on Wheels, and Asian-Americans for Community Involvement, folding origami cranes to help bring awareness to domestic violence and human trafficking. Additionally, she donates her time to organize a card and letter writing initiative for A Million Thanks, sending letters of thanks to active military reserve and military veterans.

Joanie and her husband have one son and enjoy taking annual vacations with their extended families. Her hobbies center around crafts and baking, particularly making hand-made cards and desserts for family and friends.
