John Sherman is a Senior Vice President and Private Client Manager with Bank of America Private Bank in Charleston, South Carolina. He is the primary point of contact for existing clients. John’s main objectives are to listen to clients, help identify their needs, provide guidance and coordinate with the appropriate representatives of the Bank of America Private Bank platform of extensive resources to support each client’s overall wealth strategy. While developing new client relationships and helping to ensure a professional and personal client experience, John is responsible for assisting clients with investment management, strategic banking and credit, as well as daily liquidity and service needs.
 
John joined Bank of America Private Bank in 2021.  He has an extensive background in private banking and wealth management with over 33 years of experience, helping give him insight into the needs of high-net-worth individuals and families. He started his banking career at Fifth Third Bank in their management training program before accepting a position in private banking. He then went on to spend 17 years with Bank of America, holding various positions during his tenure. Most recently, John was a Wealth Advisor at Truist Financial (formerly BB&T) before he rejoined the Bank.

John Sherman obtained a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the Farmer School of Business at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. John is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. Throughout his career, John has been active with various philanthropic, professional and civic organizations.
