John Osborn is a Senior Vice President and Senior Trust Officer at Bank of America Private Bank, in San Francisco, California.  He has more than 25 years of experience in complex estate and tax planning for high-net-worth individuals and families.  His work has included estate and trust law and administration, and settlement and guidance to heirs, small business entities, and nonprofit organizations. 

Prior to joining Bank of America Private Bank in 2023, John was Senior Vice President and Director of Trust Services with Mechanics Bank (San Francisco), a personal trust officer with U.S. Bank (San Francisco), and a tax and estate planning specialist with Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman (Palo Alto), Cooley LLP (San Francisco), Hanson Bridgett LLP (San Francisco) and Arnold & Porter (Washington, D.C.).

A Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) through the American Bankers Association, John also earned a paralegal certification from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.  He studied Business Administration at Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, Maryland, and Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. 

John has served in various Board and volunteer capacities with the San Francisco Estate Planning Council, American Cancer Society, Horizons Foundation, San Francisco State University Paralegal Program, San Francisco Paralegal Association, and the San Francisco Community Court.  He has garnered multiple professional awards, including Mechanics Bank Champions Club, U.S. Bank Silver Shield Award and was named San Francisco Paralegal of the year in 2003. 

John is currently a member of the San Francisco Estate Planning Council and the Northern California Planned Giving Council.
