John G. Maus, Jr. is a Managing Director, Private Client Advisor and Institutional Client Advisor with Bank of America Private Bank in New York, New York. John works closely with high-net-worth individuals, families and institutions to help them grow, preserve and steward their wealth more effectively.
As a Private Client Advisor, John has gained extensive experience advising business owners and corporate executives about the intersection of their personal and professional finances, particularly families with complex balance sheets and generational-planning needs. A former attorney, he offers first-hand insights in wealth structuring, mindful of each client’s unique circumstances and tax situation.*
John also holds the Institutional Client Advisor title within the firm. In this role, he provides integrated advice and guidance to nonprofit organizations and philanthropic institutions, helping them advance their missions through end-to-end capabilities in fiduciary oversight, investment management, governance and grant making.
John has more than 15 years of experience in wealth management. Prior to joining Bank of America Private Bank (formerly U.S. Trust) in 2009, he served as a Trust and Estate Advisor with the Citi Private Bank in New York. Previously, he was an Associate with Goldman Sachs in New York and began his professional career practicing law in West Palm Beach, Florida. He earned his B.A. in government and international relations from the University of Notre Dame, and his J.D. from the Florida State College of Law.*
John is a member of the Florida Bar and serves on the Board of Directors of the Greenwich United Way. He is also an active participant in the New York City chapters of the Notre Dame and Florida State Alumni Clubs.
John lives in Riverside, Connecticut with his wife, Allison, and their three boys.
