Jon Shibata is a Senior Vice President and Private Client Advisor with Bank of America Private Bank in Los Angeles, California. Jon advises high- and ultra-net-worth families, entrepreneurs, and non-profit institutions across multiple disciplines, including wealth planning, investment management, trust and estate planning services, philanthropic strategies, and specialized credit and lending solutions.

Recognizing that each client relationship has unique interests and priorities, Jon leads a team of in-house, wealth management specialists to architect and deliver thoughtful financial strategies.   He also facilitates access and integration to the vast resources of Bank of America’s entire enterprise.  Business owners rely on Jon’s advice to navigate complex situations, including transitioning or selling their business.  Jon provides strategic guidance and a broad suite of philanthropic services to help families and institutions to align their values with their overall investment plan to create long-lasting legacies.  Working with multi-generational family relationships and their advisors, Jon addresses the challenges of significant wealth by offering perspectives and guidance helping families make informed decisions about their future and achieve their financial goals.

Jon began his career in the financial services industry in 2005, providing guidance to hyper-growth businesses. He joined Bank of America in 2011 and Bank of America Private Bank (formerly U.S. Trust) in 2013.  Jon holds multiple leadership roles, including the development of strategies across multiple lines of business meant to continually improve client relationships.  He also takes pride in being a mentor for multiple bank employee networks.

Jon earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business and his M.B.A., with high honors, from The Graziadio School of Business at Pepperdine University. While at Pepperdine, he gained investment banking experience and contributed to The Graziadio Business Review publication. As an Eagle Scout recipient, Jon also enjoys making an impact with organizations that focus on community development and other environmental and socially responsible causes. He and his wife, Katie, love traveling, especially with their rescue dog, Alika.
