Jon Shibata is a Senior Vice President and Private Client Advisor with Bank of America Private Bank in Los Angeles, California. Jon advises high-net-worth individuals, their families, and institutions across multiple disciplines, including investment management, wealth planning, philanthropy, and lending.


Recognizing that every family has unique interests and priorities, Jon has the knowledge and understanding to deliver tailored strategies to help support them for current and future generations. He integrates all available resources to help business owners with services ranging from complex liquidity events to leveraging the extensive resources of the bank. Jon provides a broad suite of philanthropic services to help clients align their values with their overall investment plan. He guides families and institutions in their efforts to create long-lasting legacies while helping to meet their goals from a financial and socially responsible perspective.


Jon began his career in the financial services industry in 2005, providing guidance to high-growth businesses. He joined Bank of America in 2011 and Bank of America Private Bank (formerly U.S. Trust) in 2013. Currently, he holds multiple leadership roles helping to lead integration efforts across the bank and serving as a mentor for members of the Southern California Asian and Black/African American bank employee networks.


Jon earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business and an M.B.A. with high honors from The Graziadio School of Business at Pepperdine University. While at Pepperdine, he gained investment banking experience and contributed to The Graziadio Business Review publication.

As an Eagle Scout recipient, Jon also enjoys making an impact with organizations that focus on community development and other environmental and socially responsible causes. He and his wife, Katie, love traveling, especially with their rescue dog, Alika.
