Karen Weiss is a Managing Director and Private Client Advisor with Bank of America Private Bank in New York. Karen works with a select group of ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, providing them with sophisticated advice, sustained leadership, and deft coordination. She is accustomed to unwinding the complexities that substantial wealth can entail. Clients look to Karen and her team for perceptive analysis, decisive strategy, and exacting execution. She has more than two decades of experience advising an accomplished clientele, including hedge fund and private equity principals, investment banking professionals, entrepreneurs, charitable institutions, and affluent women. A creative thinker, Karen is skilled in anticipating client needs and devising thoughtful approaches to deliver on those objectives. She works closely with multiple generations of client families, sharing best practices in legacy design, tax-sensitive wealth transfer, and next-generation stewardship. A veteran team leader, she also connects clients to enterprise-wide capabilities that reflect their distinctive interests, orchestrating these initiatives with the personalization and diligence that are her hallmarks. Karen has worked at the Private Bank (formerly U.S. Trust) since 1998. She began her private banking career in 1995 in the Corporate Executives Group of The Chase Manhattan Private Bank. Previously, she worked for IBM in sales and marketing and was a Product Manager for the IBM Asia Pacific market. She earned her B.A. in history and comparative area studies from Duke University and her M.B.A. in finance from American University. Dedicated to professional excellence, she holds the Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®) designation, the Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) designation, and the Retirement Management Advisor® (RMA®) designation. Karen is a member of the Economic Club of New York.
