Karen Weiss is a Managing Director and Private Client Advisor with Bank of America Private Bank in New York. She works closely with a broad range of high-net-worth individuals, families, and institutions to assess their financial needs and develop tailored strategies designed to advance their objectives. She has significant experience advising entrepreneurs, investment bankers, hedge fund and private equity managers, charitable institutions, and affluent women.

Karen selects and leads a team of private banking specialists who work in concert to address multiple client priorities. She is adept in coordinating complex initiatives, integrating the efforts of a client’s external tax and legal advisors, as appropriate. Karen marshals the extensive capabilities of the Private Bank, channeling them in a manner that is personalized and immediate.

Karen has worked at Bank of America Private Bank (formerly U.S. Trust) since 1998. She began her private banking career in 1995 in the Corporate Executives Group of The Chase Manhattan Private Bank. Previously, she worked for IBM in sales and marketing and was a Product Manager for the IBM Asia Pacific market. She holds a B.A. in History and Comparative Area Studies from Duke University and an MBA in Finance from American University. Karen holds the Certified Private Wealth Advisor (“CPWA”) designation, administered by the Investments & Wealth Institute™ (“IWI”) and taught in conjunction with the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, the Certified Investment Management Analyst (“CIMA”) designation, also administered by IWI and taught in conjunction with the Yale School of Management, and the Retirement Management Advisor (“RMA”) designation, administered by IWI.  She is a member of IWI.  

Karen is a member of the Lincoln Center Corporate Leadership Council and a member of the Economic Club of New York.
