Kevin Rao is a Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager at Bank of America Private Bank in New York City. With a deep understanding of multiple asset classes and advanced strategies, he brings wealthy individuals, families and family offices more than 25 years’ experience in the worlds of investing and private wealth management.

Analytically skilled and technically adept, Kevin looks to offer clients thought-provoking ideas about investment opportunities. He has a strong background in equities, fixed income, derivatives, equity capital markets, and the use of leverage. In his role, Kevin helps clients explore and articulate meaningful objectives for themselves, their families and the greater good. Given his appreciation for clients’ mindsets and motivations, he works toward the creation of fully customized strategies that clients can understand and follow – both which he finds are critical to their success and satisfaction.

Kevin has experienced. several major market cycles, including the Dotcom Bubble in 2000 and the Great Financial Crisis of 2008. He has also managed investments in changing interest rate environments. Throughout his career, Kevin’s steady hand and ongoing guidance have helped clients stay focused on their long-term goals and results.

Prior to joining the Private Bank in 2020, Kevin spent more than two decades managing billions of dollars for a prominent family office in New York City. While there, he served as portfolio manager, derivatives strategist and head trader. Before that, he worked for J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Hong Kong during the Asian Financial Crisis. Kevin holds an MBA in finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BSBA (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration) from Messiah College. He speaks multiple Chinese languages and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation.
