Mark Wieland is a Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager at Bank of America Private Bank in Boston, Massachusetts. He draws on his over two decades of experience to serve the portfolio management and investment needs of multigenerational families and successful individuals, including corporate executives, hedge fund managers and other professionals. Mark is also dedicated to helping foundations, endowments and pension plans support their long-term goals and advance their missions.
Over the course of his career, Mark has navigated varied economic environments and offers technical insights and a seasoned perspective on changing market cycles. He has experience with multiple asset classes and instruments and offers tailored investment solutions to help clients strike a balance between their risk tolerance, growth objectives and making sure their assets are held in the most appropriate accounts.
Mark’s exposure to multiple market cycles and economic themes has enhanced his ability to navigate diverse investment environments. He believes strongly in the value of frequent communication while concentrating on the goals of every client to craft investment strategies that reflect their objectives, time horizon and risk tolerance.
Mark joined State Street’s Private Asset Management Group as a portfolio manager and trust officer in 2002, which later became part of U.S. Trust and Bank of America Private Bank. Previously, he was the director of finance and manager of strategic analysis at Roll International in California and a corporate banker for the Bank of Montreal responsible for large corporate lending.
Mark earned his Bachelor’s degree in business economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and his M.B.A. from the University of Southern California. He is a CFA® charterholder and holds the Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) designation. Born and raised in California, Mark and his wife are raising their two children in Massachusetts. His hobbies include skiing and running.
