Mark J. Green

Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager

Professional Profile

Mark Green is a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Bank of America Private Bank (formerly U.S. Trust).   In this role, he develops, implements, and manages customized investment strategies for high net worth individuals and charitable institutions.  In constructing the plan, Mark works with the client to determine their financial goals and objectives, risk tolerance, cash flow needs, and tax situation.  He uses this information to help create an Investment Policy Statement, which will serve as a guide for managing the investment relationship. Mark then leverages the open architecture offered by the Private Bank investment platform, making use of the most effective investment options for each client, employing traditional financial asset classes, as well as alternative investments and specialty assets, where appropriate.  The portfolio is managed in accord with the fiduciary standard.

Once the plan is established, Mark manages and monitors the client portfolio to help ensure the strategies are on-track to meet the client’s goals through all market cycles, providing updates through a combination of in-person meetings and email, telephone, and text communications, as best suits each client.

Mark joined the Bank of America Private Bank in 2006 in Greensboro, North Carolina, and later joined the Charleston office in 2009.  He began his career with Wells Fargo and its predecessor banks from 1997 to 2006, where he evaluated business operations to improve sales and operational efficiencies, as well as later partnering with line of business leaders to create and execute the e-commerce business plan for banking and investment products.

Mark earned a BS degree in Economics, as well as a BA degree in History, from the College of Charleston.  He holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER certification awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., as well as the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation.

Active in the community, Mark currently serves as Vice President and Chair of the Finance Committee for the South Carolina Swim Club, which has over 270 members.
