Matthew Wong, CFP®, CEPA®, is a Senior Vice President and Private Client Advisor at Bank of America Private Bank, in Los Angeles, California. He offers strategic guidance to a select group of high-net-worth clients, including business owners and their families, who lead complex and sophisticated financial lives.
From helping grow a business, to maximizing its value through a sale, Matthew and his team can connect business owners to the resources and capabilities that align with their unique needs. Together, they help to design and implement tailored financial strategies in business succession planning, investment management, tax minimization strategies, philanthropic opportunities, and credit and lending solutions. Matthew is also adept in supporting the wealth management needs of business owners once they transition from business owner to private investor.
Prior to joining Bank of America Private Bank (formerly U.S. Trust) in 2016, Matthew served as a wealth advisor at JPMorgan Chase and Morgan Stanley, where he advised high-net-worth individuals and institutions on their investment and wealth management strategies. During graduate school, Matthew worked at KPMG Consulting and helped advise major financial institutions on their corporate strategy.
Matthew earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of California, Riverside. During his time as an undergraduate, he studied abroad at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Matthew earned his M.B.A. from the University of Southern California. He holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
Matthew currently serves on the board of the Bank of America Asian Leadership Network where he is responsible for the oversight of its Leadership Development Program. He is also a board member for the USC Asian Pacific Young Alumni Association and on the junior board of Bresee, an organization, dedicated to battling poverty in Los Angeles.
