Michael Spiegel is a Managing Director and Senior Trust Officer for the Bank of America Private Bank in New York City. In this role, Michael advises high-net-worth families across a wide range of wealth transfer strategies and assists them in the creation, implementation and administration of several types of personal trusts and other fiduciary investment management accounts. He also helps his clients plan their estates and facilitate the efficient transfer of wealth to younger generations while minimizing the tax impact. He is particularly focused on outreach and relationship building with the children and grandchildren of senior clients. Michael partners with Wealth Strategists, Private Client Advisors and other teams in the Bank to provide our best thinking to his clients. Finally, Michael enjoys his client relationships, and appreciates the trust his clients place in him.

Michael has over 30 years of experience advising clients in trust and fiduciary matters. Prior to joining Bank of America in 2009, Michael was a Team Leader and Senior Fiduciary Officer at Neuberger Berman Trust Company, where he served for 7 years. Before that he was a Senior Trust Officer at JPMorgan Private Bank, where he worked with the firm’s ultra-high-net-worth families. Before JP Morgan, he practiced tax and trust & estate law in New York City.

Michael received a B.A. from Yeshiva University, a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law.

In his free time, Michael’s interests include bike riding, swimming and spending time with his family.
