Senior Vice President, Senior Trust Officer
Michael Donahue is a Senior Vice President and Senior Trust Officer in the Boston, Massachusetts office of Bank of America Private Bank.
As a local resource with deep knowledge of trust design and administration, Michael works closely with clients to help preserve and transfer wealth effectively. He develops long-term relationships with clients, providing them with the knowledge they need to enact and revise their estate plans in light of changing priorities and objectives. Michael works in concert with a team of Private Bank specialists, aligning his efforts with client initiatives in investment management, wealth strategy, and philanthropy. Moreover, he is skilled in spearheading coordinated action with a client’s external professional advisors, advancing sound communication and careful deliberation across multiple disciplines. Michael works with clients at varied stages of their personal and professional lives. He believes that sound estate planning can benefit a wide range of clients, from matriarchs and patriarchs of multi-generational families to young professionals. Throughout his engagements, he brings a responsiveness and sensitivity that underscore his deep-seated interest in client well-being.
Michael has more than two decades of experience in trust and estate planning and administration. Prior to re-joining Bank of America Private Bank in 2022, he was a Senior Trust Officer at Union Bank in San Francisco; a Senior Fiduciary Specialist with Wells Fargo in San Francisco; and a Regional Fiduciary Advisor with our predecessor firm, U.S. Trust, for 12 years combined in New York and San Francisco. Michael is admitted to practice law in New York.
Michael graduated with a J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law in New York, and a B.A. in English literature from St. Michael’s College in Vermont.
In his free time, he volunteers with SF CASA, an organization that supports foster youths.
