Nicole Poteat is a Senior Vice President and Private Client Advisor with Bank of America Private Bank in New York, New York. Nicole works with high-net-worth individuals and families, helping them discern the underlying purpose and meaning of their wealth, and pursuing those objectives with focus and care. An experienced team leader, she connects clients to the capabilities that reflect their unique interests and needs, fostering a client experience that is intimately personalized and responsive.

Nicole advises a diverse clientele including founders, young professionals, and families with multi-generational wealth. An attentive listener, she is skilled in helping clients unify varied objectives, uncovering possible efficiencies across a client’s balance sheet. Her areas of focus include wealth structuring and pre-liquidity-event planning for company founders and entrepreneurs, financial education and stewardship for women decision-makers and next-generation family members, and wealth strategy for clients with complex personal or professional circumstances.

Prior to joining the Private Bank (formerly U.S. Trust) in 2017, Nicole was an Associate in the Executive Office of Goldman Sachs. She earned her bachelor’s degree in government from Harvard University and her J.D. from Boston College Law School.

Nicole is a managing member of Gaingels, a mission-based venture capital organization that invests in companies with LGBT leadership. A committed philanthropist, she has endowed the Michael Poteat Global Education Scholarship at Elon University. She also serves as a board member of the Ackerman Institute for the Family.

Nicole lives in Westchester, New York, with her wife Emilie, their daughters Adeline, Birdie, and Elle, and their golden retrievers, Charlie and Eliot. On the weekends she enjoys painting and playing tennis.
