Managing Director, Private Client Advisor

Professional Profile

Patrick Murphy is a Managing Director and Private Client Advisor with Bank of America Private Bank in Princeton, New Jersey. His broad experience spans private banking and investment management, as well as financial, tax and retirement planning. Leading a team of dedicated specialists, Patrick addresses the sophisticated financial needs of senior-level corporate executives, business owners, real estate investors, hedge fund and private equity professionals, and generations of wealthy families.

Given the challenges facing clients as they build wealth and face complex decisions, Patrick and his team formulate and implement personalized strategies across asset management, trust and estate planning services, business succession planning, philanthropic services, and complex credit transactions. Before assuming his current role in the Private Bank, Patrick was an associate wealth strategist in the Bank’s wealth planning solutions group – offering education and advice to clients on the topics of retirement planning, investments, income tax and estate planning. He was also a private client manager, providing credit and banking services.

Prior to joining the Private Bank (formerly U.S. Trust) in 2005, Patrick worked as a financial planner for The AYCO Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Goldman Sachs. In that role, he provided financial planning services for executive-level corporate clients and high-net-worth individuals.

Patrick holds a B.A. from Rutgers University, where he was a four-year letter winner on the Men’s Division I lacrosse team. Later, he earned an M.B.A. from New York University’s Stern School of Business. Patrick is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.  He coaches youth soccer and lacrosse in Westfield, New Jersey, where he resides with his wife, Meaghan, and their three children.
