Richard (Rick) Brown is a Senior Vice President and Private Client Manager with Bank of America Private Bank in Raleigh, North Carolina. In his role, Rick is responsible for maintaining client relationships with high-net-worth individuals and families to identify opportunities and deliver a broad spectrum of client services including investment management, credit, lending and banking solutions, and estate planning services.  Rick works closely with Private Client Advisors, Portfolio Managers, Trust Officers and Wealth Strategists to help ensure client satisfaction and relationship growth. He takes great satisfaction in his ability to connect clients with Bank of America’s extensive global resources that align with their distinctive needs.

Rick joined Bank of America in 1988 as a credit analyst. Prior to joining Bank of America Private Bank (formerly U.S. Trust) in 2017, he held a variety of positions within the commercial banking division. Rick spent 12 years in the government and public sector banking group, where he managed the relationships with state and local governments and public universities across North Carolina. Previously, he served as Bank of America’s city executive in Durham. He currently serves on Bank of America’s Triangle leadership team.

Originally from Illinois, Rick began his career there as a junior officer at a small bank before transitioning to Deere & Company where he was a financial systems analyst and worked on its audit staff. Rick earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and business administration from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, and an M.B.A. in finance from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.

Active in his community, Rick spent more than ten years coaching youth baseball, soccer, and basketball and has served on numerous non-profit boards. Most notably, he was the founding board president of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Durham and Orange Counties, which has since grown to become Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle. He was also a founding board member of the Emily Krzyzewski Family Life Center. Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity of Durham as past Chair. Rick’s hobbies center around sports, including tennis, golf, walking and general fitness.
