Ronald H. (Ron) Thelin, Jr., is a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Bank of America Private Bank.  In this role, he is responsible for creating and maintaining personalized investment strategies and a broad range of wealth management services including financial planning and wealth strategy.  This includes assisting clients establish their goals and objectives, developing an appropriate overall strategy, formulating and implementing strategies through to conducting regular reviews to monitor progress toward reaching the initial goals and strategies set forth.  In addition, supporting clients on navigating through virtually every market environment to provide traditional guidance in the areas of asset allocation, tax-minimization, retirement, and multi-generational strategies from risk based planning strategies to banking and lending needs.

Ron has over 45 years of investment management experience. Prior to joining Bank of America, his career affiliations are highlighted by the following positions: Chief Operating Officer at Vanderbilt Capital Advisors in New York City; Head of the Portfolio Management Group at Aetna Life Insurance Company in Hartford, CT; a Principal at First Boston Asset Management in New York City; and Portfolio Manager at Scudder, Stevens & Clark, also in New York City.

Ron earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Investments from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst ® designation.

Ron is on the Vestry of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, and a member of the New York Yacht Club, and the Society of Colonial Wars. He resides in Lynchburg with his wife and son.
