Doris Cortes is a Senior Vice President and Private Client Manager at Bank of America Private Bank in Newport Beach, California. She is the key point of contact for a wide range of high-net worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients nationwide, including technology executives, CEOs, multi-generational families, and family offices, as well as entrepreneurs who have sold or plan to sell a business. Doris works closely with clients and their families to design and implement personalized wealth management offerings tailored to their individual wealth management goals. These include strategic banking and custom credit and lending solutions. She also coordinates with specialists from the Private Bank to deliver strategies for investment management, charitable giving, wealth transfer, philanthropy, and business succession planning, as well as trust and estate planning services.
Doris describes herself as hardworking, intellectually curious, and eager to step up to a challenge. Before she started her financial career, she was on track to become a physician. She brings a medical mindset to her current role, with a focus on helping clients
diagnose their wealth management needs and create future-focused strategies to pursue their financial vision.
Prior to joining the Private Bank, Doris was a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. She has extensive experience in retail banking, investment banking and wealth management. Doris graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in biology and chemistry.
Doris is committed to making the world a better place through community service. In 2014 she founded Feed the Hungry, a nonprofit that hosts events where hundreds of volunteers package up to 50,000 dry meals for distribution in developing countries. She served as an executive board member of Our Lady Queen of Angels church in Newport Beach. Doris cares deeply for her extended family in the U.S. and Colombia. A native of Newport Beach, she is passionate about health and nutrition. She stays fit by exploring the outdoors, swimming in the ocean, and walking 22 flights of stairs every day.
