John Magee is a Managing Director and Private Client Advisor with Bank of America Private Bank in Denver, Colorado. He brings 30 years of extensive financial services experience to an ultra-high-net-worth clientele facing the complex challenges of having accumulated or inherited significant wealth. They include technology entrepreneurs and other business owners, M&A candidates, generations of wealthy families and family offices.
In addition to his own knowledge and nuanced insights, John leads a select team of local specialists whose mission it is to help optimize his clients’ balance sheets – from custom credit and lending, to investment management and asset preservation, wealth transfer and financial forecasting.
Before joining the Private Bank (formerly U.S. Trust) in 2017, he worked for nine years as an executive director and team lead at J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Denver overseeing more than $4.5 billion of entrusted assets for wealthy individuals, families, and closely held business owners. For the four years prior to that, he was a financial advisor at Bernstein Global Wealth Management. In 1996, John founded Clipper Financial Incorporated, which specialized in asset-based lending to corporations with a focus on equipment leasing. He sold the company in 2005. Early in his career, John was an analyst and director of marketing for Republic Financial Corporation in Denver, specializing in aircraft financing and portfolio acquisitions.
John holds an M.B.A. from the University of Colorado and a B.S. in finance and real estate from Colorado State University. He serves on the Board of Directors for Bravo, the Vail Valley Music Festival and is an active member of the Association for Corporate Growth. An avid outdoorsman, John enjoys skiing, cycling, hiking and golf. He and his wife, Regina, have three children and two dogs.
