Jonathon (Jon) McLaughlin is a Managing Director and Market Investment Executive for Bank of America Private Bank in Greater Connecticut (GCT). Jon leads, coaches and manages Portfolio Managers to help clients establish their goals and objectives, develop appropriate overall strategies, and create and monitor progress toward reaching their goals.
Prior to joining the Private Bank in Connecticut, Jon served as the Senior Portfolio Management Team Lead in Bank of America’s Chief Investment Office (CIO). He provided portfolio construction, positioning and implementation guidance to the Private Bank in addition to the bank’s consumer channel. He also helped translate the CIO investment strategies to both internal and external audiences and helped host the national calls for the propriety equity and the portfolio construction teams.
Jon’s experience with the Chief Investment Office gave him an appreciation for the power of the CIO’s investment guidance combined with the use of the Private Bank’s planning tools to help guide clients to meet their short and long-term objectives.
Jon’s management experience included leading and managing a team of investment strategists who implemented CIO thought leadership to construct portfolios customized to meet client needs and investment preferences, with specific manager selection and model portfolios as needed.
Prior to that role, Jon was an Investment Consultant for ultra-high net worth relationships in New York.
Jon earned his M.S. in Finance from the University of Texas at Dallas and his B.S. in Finance from Oral Roberts University. He is an avid golfer and Detroit sports fan and resides in West Hartford with his wife and twins, a son and a daughter.
