Michael Garand is a Managing Director and Private Client Advisor at Bank of America Private Bank based in Boston, Massachusetts. As the strategist for his ultra-high-net-worth client relationships, he coordinates a wide range of resources across multiple disciplines designed to help business owners and their families prepare to transition wealth from their business to a personal investment strategy. He is committed to providing thoughtful, innovative advice and guidance tailored to clients’ individual financial goals and wealth management complexities.
Michael leads a locally based team of specialists from the Private Bank with many years of collective experience serving a diverse clientele in central Massachusetts. Leveraging team members’ skills and knowledge, he offers services to help clients manage wealth throughout their lifetimes and leave a legacy for future generations. These include strategies for wealth planning and structuring and portfolio management, as well as trust and estate planning services and customized banking and lending solutions.
Michael’s financial career spans more than three decades. He joined the Private Bank (formerly U.S. Trust) in 2007 as the city executive for the Worcester office. Previously, he was a division manager for Citizens Investment Services with responsibility for directing and managing the company’s investment program in Massachusetts. Michael earned a B.A. degree in business management from Providence College. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.
Actively involved in the Worcester community, Michael is a board member of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce as well as the Worcester Research Bureau. He is also an active member of the Worcester Estate and Business Planning Council and the Worcester Economic Club and serves on the committee for his local Boy Scout Troop in Southborough.
