Jacob Kochen is an Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Bank of America Private Bank in New York, New York. In concert with his fellow portfolio managers – and supported by the extensive global resources of the Private Bank – he formulates and maintains portfolios for clients with significant wealth and expectations. Analytically skilled and technically adept, Jacob helps clients structure, deploy and manage their wealth. Given his appreciation of clients’ mindsets and motivations, he works toward the creation of fully customized strategies that clients can understand and follow – both which he finds are critical to their success and satisfaction. Whenever possible, he also tries to educate clients and explain matters in simple terms, so that they can understand what they own and why. Jacob believes that wealth is more than a number – it’s a feeling. To that point, he finds tremendous satisfaction in seeing the real-world impact of his work on clients’ lives and legacies. Fortunate to share mutual interests with the “next generation” of clients’ families, he is able to engage in more casual and comfortable discussions – allowing for frequent conversations that revolve around topics other than money. Following in the “financial” footsteps of his father (a money manager) – and having discussed investments with him at an early age – Jacob grew fascinated with how data and news influenced market behavior. Pursuing this interest, Jacob earned a B.S. degree with a double major in Finance and Finance Planning from the University of Delaware. In 2017, Jacob joined the Private Bank in Hartford, Connecticut. A former Connecticut high school baseball and football player, Jacob now resides on the Upper East Side and meets his childhood friends for softball and basketball games in Central Park. He also enjoys playing golf and skiing.
