Michael (Mike) Banwell is a Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Bank of America Private Bank in New York City. Mike is responsible for creating and maintaining customized investment strategies that reflect clients’ personal objectives, risk tolerance, legacy, and wealth transfer aspirations. He coordinates with a team of professionals at the Private Bank, guiding clients with respect to asset allocation, tax minimization, retirement, and multi-generational planning. Mike works with families, foundations, corporate executives, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals, as they navigate different stages of life and various market environments.Mike has spent his entire career at Bank of America Private Bank (formerly U.S. Trust). He has held several roles including Portfolio Management Senior Associate, where he was tasked with leading economic, market, and investment platform research to help cultivate impactful ideas for implementation in client portfolios. He began his career as a Portfolio Management Assistant, responsible for partnering with Portfolio Managers across the Midtown East and Metro New York markets to manage client accounts, conduct asset allocation monitoring, and execute complex trading strategies.Mike obtained a B.S.B.A. in finance from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. Through The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) program he had the opportunity to live and intern in Washington D.C. while studying 2 Economics of Regulation at George Mason University. Mike was inducted into The International Honor Society for Economics, Omicron Delta Epsilon for his academic distinction and research in economics.Born and raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Mike loves spending time with his wife, son, family, and friends.
