Rubens Botaro is a Managing Director and Private Client Advisor with Bank of America Private Bank in New York City. Guided by a passion for building meaningful connections, Rubens forges lasting relationships with clients and their families– often becoming a trusted confidant and their voice inside the Bank. Clients know Rubens as someone who listens deeply and approaches every challenge with integrity, ingenuity and dedication.

Drawing on more than two decades of experience, Rubens partners with Bank of America’s in-house specialists to bring practical advice to individuals, multigenerational families and business owners. He focuses on working closely with real estate families, financial professionals, family offices, charitable institutions and entrepreneurs, helping them navigate the sometimes-complex world of wealth and estate planning, investing, philanthropy, banking and financing. For family-owned companies, Rubens brings invaluable insights in treasury and risk management and makes the connection with the personal aspects of building, owning and selling a business, or passing it on to future generations.

Before joining Bank of America Private Bank, Rubens spent 14 years with Citi Private Bank, where he was a Managing Director and Private Banker, having also led teams in capital markets for the Americas. His banking career began in 2002 in the Markets business, with roles in London and New York at Deutsche Bank and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he worked in derivatives sales and structuring for institutional investors and major corporations.

Rubens earned a Master’s in Finance and Economics from the London School of Economics, and both a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Economics from Universidade de Brasília. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation and the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Rubens and his wife live in Tribeca where they raise their son, daughter and an energetic rescue dog, Rocco. Weekends typically find Rubens as a volunteer coach in Downtown Manhattan’s youth soccer and basketball leagues.
