Elizabeth (Betsy) Rath is Private Client Advisor with Bank of America Private Bank in the Philadelphia area. Betsy works closely with clients who have created significant wealth, focusing on C-suite executives and private equity firms. She applies more than 25 years of financial experience, most of it with Bank of America, to help clients manage their wealth strategically as they pursue lifetime and legacy goals.
Throughout her career, Betsy has earned a reputation as a client champion who thinks creatively, listens carefully, and delves deeply to understand each client’s distinct wealth management priorities and concerns. She navigates the bank on the client’s behalf, convening and leading a team of multidisciplinary specialists who work collaboratively to deliver an extensive array of services for both sides of the balance sheet. These may include strategies for fiduciary investment management, business succession planning, and philanthropy, as well as trust and estate planning services and credit and lending solutions.
Betsy started her career with Bank of America in 1999. Prior to joining the Private Bank in 2025, she was a Managing Director at the firm’s Global Investment Bank, where she advised founders, CEOs and CFOs in emerging growth companies. Earlier, she held Managing Director positions in the firm’s Corporate and Investment Bank. For three years, she was a Managing Director at Clough Capital Partners, a long/short equity investment firm in Boston. Betsy earned a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in economics at Trinity College, where she played varsity squash. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Boston College.
Deeply involved in the community, Betsy is active on the board of the Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technologies (PACT) and the committee for 100 Women in Finance of Philadelphia. Previously, she served on the board of Cradles to Crayons. An avid golfer, she is a member of the Merion Golf Club and serves on its finance committee. Betsy lives with her family in Villanova, Pennsylvania, where she enjoys attending school and sports events for her two teenage sons.
