Adam Burch is a Managing Director and the Market Executive for the Private Bank in Virginia including the Richmond, Norfolk and Charlottesville teams. Adam leads a team of Private Client Advisors, Private Client Managers, Portfolio Managers and Trust Officers who support clients across the Virginia market. He is responsible for enhancing the client experience at Bank of America Private Bank by streamlining access to resources, augmenting Advisor capabilities, fostering collaboration among team members and intensifying client outreach. Adam plays an integral role with both clients and colleagues; he facilitates a more effective engagement with the services and strategies available through the bank, amplifying the client experience.
Adam understands the opportunities and challenges that can accompany significant wealth. He looks to channel the breadth of local resources and extensive capabilities of the bank, resulting in robust strategies that unify multiple disciplines: investment management, trust and estate planning services, credit and lending through Bank of America, N.A., executive services, family office services and philanthropy. Adam points to the fiduciary standard as a critical foundation of the Private Bank’s value to clients.
Adam has worked in the financial service industry since 1996. He joined Bank of America Private Bank (formerly U.S. Trust) in 2006 as a Portfolio Manager working with high-net worth individuals, families, and organizations to design, implement, and manage investment strategies as part of the firm’s broad and holistic approach to wealth management. Prior to serving as the Virginia Market Executive, Adam held several leadership positions in the Private Bank including: Market Investment Director; Market Sales Executive; and Market Leader. Prior to joining Bank of America, Mr. Burch held portfolio management and investment advisory positions with Wachovia Wealth Management and Morgan Stanley.
Adam has earned the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation, having completed course work at the Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley. He is a graduate of Mount St. Mary’s University, earning both an undergraduate degree and MBA. Adam is a Trustee for The Valentine Museum and the Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges. He is a Past Trustee Baltimore Museum of Art and Baltimore Reads. He is also a Past-President of the Loyola Blakefield Alumni Association Board of Governors.
