Professional Profile

James Wiltshire is a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Bank of America Private Bank, where he builds long-term relationships with the clients he works with, often across multiple generations, helping them navigate the evolving responsibilities of wealth. His focus is on building investment strategies that are centered on each client’s goals, priorities, and what they're trying to achieve.

James is a steady presence for clients across market cycles, helping them stay focused on their long-term plans rather than short-term noise. His communication is clear and direct, with an emphasis on practical, well informed decisions. He keeps the focus on what can be controlled and avoids unnecessary complexity. That discipline helps clients stay on track through changing conditions.

Since joining Bank of America Private Bank in 2014, James has taken a consistent, hands on approach, developing long standing relationships with the clients he works with. He remains closely engaged through regular conversations, thoughtful insights, and a steady approach to managing portfolios over time. Earlier in his career, he was an Associate Wealth Management Advisor at Northwestern Mutual, where he developed a strong foundation in financial planning and client service, an approach that continues to shape his work today.

James holds a Bachelor of Science in Business with a concentration in Finance from Virginia Commonwealth University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certificant, a designation awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.

Outside of work, James enjoys staying active with his wife and their two boys. Much of his time is spent on the move, whether that’s running, traveling, or finding new places and experiences to share together. He values the balance that comes from stepping away from the day-to-day and making time for family, and he makes a point to appreciate both the bigger adventures and the everyday moments along the way.
