Sheila Stinson is a Senior Vice President and Private Client Advisor at Bank of America Private Bank in the Washington, D.C., area.  For more than two decades, she has helped high- and ultra-high-net-worth clients create strategies designed to manage their wealth so they can experience more freedom to pursue the lives they envision. 

Sheila’s clientele includes business owners, entrepreneurs, executives and multi-generational families. She is passionate about working with women, including business owners and entrepreneurs who often have overcome challenges to achieve financial success. She has extensive experience working with people who have acquired sudden wealth through the sale of a company, divorce or inheritance. Sheila also designs strategies to include art and other non-traditional investments in client portfolios.         

Sheila leads a team of specialists who can deliver a variety of services, including investment management and philanthropic strategies, trust and estate planning services, and customized credit and lending solutions. She matches team members’ skills with clients’ individual wealth management goals, drawing on the extensive resources and capabilities of the Private Bank. She and her team are committed to providing proactive and highly personalized service. 

Prior to joining the Private Bank (formerly U.S. Trust) in 2019, Sheila was a managing director and partner at Pathstone, where she led teams that provided strategic wealth management guidance to ultra-high-net-worth families and clients. Previously, she had a similar role at GenSpring Family Offices. She started her financial services career in D.C. at American Security Bank, a Bank of America predecessor.

Sheila earned an M.B.A. degree with a concentration in finance from The George Washington University. She graduated cum laude from Florida State University with a B.S. degree in finance and real estate. She is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and holds the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor designation.
