Stephen Kenney is a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager with the Bank of America Private Bank in Chicago, Illinois. He applies the knowledge and insight he has gained from more than 25 years in investment management to helping clients with complex financial and personal situations pursue their distinctive goals.

Using forethought and care, Steve provides highly tailored investment advice and guidance to individuals, families, and institutions to help them reach their objectives. He has extensive experience in diversification strategies, down-side risk mitigation, asset allocation, cash-flow modeling, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) investing.

Steve began his career in financial services in 1992, when he joined American National Bank in trust operations and, later, institutional bond sales. In 2007, he moved to the Private Bank of J.P. Morgan as a portfolio manager, leader of an investment team, and regional leader. In 2015, he went to Abbot Downing, the ultra-high-net-worth boutique-like organization within Wells Fargo, where he served as a portfolio manager and member of the fixed income committee that helped to determine asset allocation within the bond portfolio. He joined Bank of America Private Bank in May, 2019.

Steve earned his M.B.A. from DePaul University, where he graduated with distinction.

Steve lives in Wheaton, Illinois with his wife Jill and two teenage children, a son and a daughter. He served for six years on the Finance Committee of Saint Petronille Catholic Church in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and for two years on its Parish Council. He also sat on the Board of Advisors for the Morton Arboretum and coached youth sports.

He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation.
