Professional Profile
Tyler Smillie is a Senior Vice President and Private Client Advisor at Bank of America’s Private Bank in South Florida. In this role, he is responsible for connecting ultra-high-net-worth individuals, multi-generational families and institutions to tailored white-glove strategies that can help them reach their financial goals and achieve what matters most. Tyler travels throughout the South Florida region to his offices in Stuart, Palm Beach, Delray, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale and Miami.
Coordinating with both local resources and global capabilities, Tyler leads a team of specialists who provide guidance on investment management, wealth structuring and complex credit solutions. Their approach combines the client experience of a boutique private bank with access to extensive enterprise resources including; traditional, specialty asset, alternative, and capital market investment solutions as well as customized credit and banking offerings.
Tyler is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. He obtained a Master of Business Administration degree and bachelor’s degree from Florida State University’s College of Business. During his MBA, Tyler studied abroad in two global business seminars at the Kyung-Hee Management University in Seoul, South Korea and the EM Strasbourg Business School in Strasbourg, France.
At present, Tyler serves as chairman of the alumni board of The Florida State University’s College of Business and is the South Florida chapter leader of The Karen Wellington Memorial Foundation. He also serves on the Susan G. Komen Advocacy Council as well as the Riverwalk Advisory Board. Tyler is an active member of the FAU Tech Runway Advisory board and participates in the programming of events with the Jack and Jill Children’s center. Tyler enjoys sports such as running marathons, fishing and boating. He also has an appreciation for ceramic arts and watching college football.
