Zachary A. Cohen is a Managing Director and Wealth Strategies Advisor at Bank of America Private Bank in Chevy Chase, Maryland. In this role, he formulates and implements comprehensive strategies designed to assist clients with complex financial needs including preservation, transfer and management of wealth. Zac is often called upon for his highly analytical and quantitative approach to tax and cash flow planning on behalf of business owners and corporate executives.
In addition to offering clients a broad range of wealth management, investment, fiduciary and banking services, he collaborates with clients’ trusted advisors to build and monitor estate planning, business succession and wealth transfer strategies, while working to minimizing estate, gift, income, and real property taxes in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
Prior to joining Bank of America Private Bank (formerly U.S. Trust) in 2013, Zac worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. During more than eight years spent in public accounting, he advised clients in several areas including income tax planning, estate tax planning, wealth transfer planning, charitable planning and deferred compensation planning. In his role as a wealth strategist for the Private Bank, he does not provide accounting advice.
Zac earned a B.S. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Maryland, College Park, and an M.S. in taxation from American University. He is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in Virginia, and is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, a designation awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. Zac also holds the Accredited Estate Planner® designation. Zac is a member of the Washington, D.C. Estate Planning Council.
